Project perspective
The design story
San Fernando Commercial Center broadens the visible evidence behind the studio’s commercial practice. It is useful not because every future project should look like it, but because it shows Apel Design working with a different program, scale, and operating logic.
The same core discipline remains: make the building understandable, make its uses work, and give the project enough architectural identity to be recognized.

What this project shows
Access, frontage, service, and program become more useful when the building makes their relationships clear.
A commercial building can be efficient without becoming anonymous.
Experience across building types expands the studio’s ability to recognize transferable solutions and important differences.
